Networking and sharing experiences - these are two of the pillars of the work of the REGIonal Network for Energy Efficiency and Climate Protection (REGINEE). In February, the REGINEE member company Kaup GmbH & Co. KG, which was also attended by energy manager Patrick Steiss and building services engineer Marcel Schweitzer.

The topics discussed included how energy efficiency measures are planned and implemented in companies and how measurement concepts can be realized. There was also a presentation on the integration of battery storage systems.

“The exchange with other companies in the regional network is an important part of our work to reduce energy consumption and emissions,” says Patrick Steiss. Through the discussions, best practice examples and also the exchange of information on very current problems and solutions, all participating companies receive new impetus for their own work on the common network goal - saving 1,337,062 kWh of energy or 683 t of greenhouse gas emissions by June 2027.

About the REGINEE networks
In 2014, the German Association of Energy Users (VEA) launched the Energy Efficiency and Climate Protection Networks initiative, which has been supported by 21 industry associations and organizations together with the German government and numerous other project partners since 2021. In a REGIonal Network for Energy Efficiency and Climate Protection (REGINEE), several companies from the region work together to increase their energy efficiency and drive forward climate protection measures. Central elements of the networks are a moderated exchange of experience between the participants and the definition of joint savings targets. This enables companies to expand their expertise more quickly in order to reduce their energy consumption and make a contribution to climate protection.
